    Jim Clifford

I am a postdoc working on a Digging Into Data project called Trading Consequences. We are looking at the history of commodity trading in the British world during the 19th century. Last year I finished a PhD in British environmental and social history and it was through the use of GIS in this project that I first got started in digital humanities. I'm also a co-founder of ActiveHistory.ca. Finally, I've spent the past year and a half working with NiCHE and this job included convincing historians and geographers to contribute to and engage with our website.
